The Best Coworking Spaces in Canggu for Remote Workers

·6 min read

WiFi speeds, comfort, community, and the real cost of being a digital nomad in Bali — tested across 7 spaces.

Canggu has become one of Southeast Asia's top digital nomad hubs — and for good reason. The cafe culture, the surf, the timezone, and the cost of living all add up to a near-perfect setup for remote workers. But not all coworking spaces are equal. After 6 months of testing across the island, here's my honest review of the seven best options in Canggu.

I evaluate each space on three criteria: wifi speed (tested with speedtest-cli), comfort (desk quality, chair, noise level, AC), and community (how easy it is to meet other nomads).

1. Dojo Bali

The original. The granddaddy. The space that put Canggu on the digital nomad map. Located in a converted warehouse near Batu Bolong, Dojo remains the gold standard for coworking in Bali.

- Wifi: 80 Mbps down / 60 Mbps up (tested)

  • Cost: Premium tier (check current rates on their website) — hot desk and dedicated desk options
  • Pros: Massive community, daily events, meeting rooms, fast wifi, ergonomic chairs
  • Cons: Can be noisy during peak hours, food court can get crowded

Best for: Anyone who wants the full Bali nomad experience from day one.

2. Outpost Ubud

Wait, this is supposed to be about Canggu. Outpost is in Ubud, 1 hour away. But it's so good that many nomads based in Canggu make the trek. If you want the deepest work focus in Bali, Outpost delivers.

- Wifi: 100 Mbps down / 80 Mbps up (the fastest I tested)

  • Cost: Premium tier (longer commitment gets better rate)
  • Pros: Stunning rice paddy views, focus-friendly culture, fast wifi
  • Cons: Far from Canggu (you need a scooter or grab to commute)

Best for: Digital nomads who can split time between Canggu and Ubud.

3. BWork

Smaller community, but excellent wifi and a quieter vibe than Dojo. Located near Berawa, so closer to the newer coworking crowd.

- Wifi: 90 Mbps down / 70 Mbps up

  • Cost: Mid-tier (most affordable of the established spaces)
  • Pros: Fast wifi, friendly staff, quieter than Dojo, decent coffee
  • Cons: Smaller community, fewer events, fewer meeting rooms

Best for: People who want solid wifi without the Dojo hustle.

4. Tribal Bali

Newer, smaller, more design-forward. Located in a quieter part of Canggu near Berawa.

- Wifi: 70 Mbps down / 50 Mbps up

  • Cost: Mid-tier (verify on website for current rates)
  • Pros: Beautiful design, quiet, focus-friendly
  • Cons: Smaller community, fewer networking opportunities

Best for: Designers, writers, anyone who values aesthetics + quiet.

5. Outpost Canggu (New Location)

Dojo's parent company opened a Canggu outpost in 2025. Smaller than the Ubud original but with the same operational standards.

- Wifi: 85 Mbps down / 60 Mbps up

  • Cost: Premium tier (Dojo's sister property — check current rates)
  • Pros: Familiar Outpost brand, good wifi, more space than smaller competitors
  • Cons: Newer, so community is still building

Best for: Outpost fans who want to stay in Canggu.

6. Hubud

The longest-running coworking in Bali (since 2013). Located in Ubud but worth the trip for serious remote workers who want focus time.

- Wifi: 75 Mbps down / 60 Mbps up

  • Cost: Established tier (mature operation, verify current rates)
  • Pros: Mature community, beautiful bamboo architecture, established vibe
  • Cons: 1 hour from Canggu (similar to Outpost Ubud)

Best for: Nomads wanting quiet work weeks with weekend social in Canggu.

7. The Bali Concierge (Canggu)

Newer entrant focused on luxury — private offices, premium amenities, smaller community.

- Wifi: 95 Mbps down / 70 Mbps up

  • Cost: Top tier (premium positioning, verify current rates)
  • Pros: High-end facilities, quiet, premium feel
  • Cons: Premium pricing, smaller community

Best for: Established professionals with bigger budgets.

Practical Tips for Working in Canggu

- Time zone: UTC+8 — great for working with Asia + Australia, OK with Europe (early morning calls)

  • Visa: Most nomads use the B211A visa (extendable to 6 months) or the new E33G digital nomad visa (1 year)
  • Internet backup: Get a local SIM card with Telkomsel data — 4G covers most of Canggu
  • Power outages: Rare but possible during storms. Most coworking spaces have backup generators
  • Community events: Dojo has daily events (yoga, talks, dinners). Outpost has weekly dinners. Get on their email lists.

Our Canggu Surf Paradise is located 5 minutes from Dojo and BWork. Many of our guests combine work + surf — morning surf, afternoon work, evening sunset. Perfect balance.
